Purpose:
As you begin to have direct reports, it’s important that you are there to 1) keep a pulse on their progress 2) help them grow.
1:1 Meetings with Direct Reports are important because:
- They allow you to address small issues before they get big.
- And prove to your team that you care.

Process:
1. Select the frequency.
Every team will be different but here is a general rule of thumb.
Full Time Employees:
- Start with a weekly 1:1 with every direct report. 30 mins tops.
- As you do this, you’ll likely find an optimal cadence for yourself.
- This might be every other week.
- At a minimum. once per month.
Part Time/Contractors:
- Weekly might be too much but you’ll likely find you’re communicating in other team meetings frequently and can get away with one per month.
2. The Meeting Agenda
How is LIFE? How are you? (1-5 mins)
This weeks focus/commitments? (5-10 mins)
